Historian and novelist, Charles O'Brien, will speak at Water Street Books in Williamstown, Thursday, August 27, about his recent historical novel, Death at Tammany Hall (Kensington 2015), the third book in his Gilded Age trilogy. It's the 1890s in New York City. The Democratic club, Tammany Hall, rules. Pamela Thompson, tries to reverse the wrongful conviction of Harry Miller, fellow private investigator in the Prescott Agency, imprisoned once in Sing Sing for threatening to expose Tammany's murder of a witness to its crimes. Pamela's investigation brings her into an intricate, dangerous nest of corrupt politicians and their violent underlings. Refreshments will be served. All welcome. Books will be available for purchase.
